Da Kine's was started in 1997 by Belen and Nelson Ishii... and still seems like a lifetime ago...

Let's get down to business.....

1)Just as a reminder for everyone, "Da Kines Hawaiian Caterings" is operated by Nelson & Belen Ishii. We do all the cooking like we used to when we started in PB back in 1997. So you know the food is how it was "back in the day".

2) As the founder and owner of Da Kine's Plate Lunches and Da Kine's Hawaiian Caterings, I do respond to emails and inquiries about the "independently owned operation in Pt. Loma" as well as catering questions. I'm pretty easy to talk to...really!

3) We are still doing caterings... a lot of them too. So, if you are looking for the original taste of Da Kines, call me, or tour the website. The food is still good and the prices are the best around town. No joke!

4) So let's recap. "Da Kine's". Yup, still here, the one, the original, no matter what you're told or heard. Now if you're looking to have a party with some of the best food around, call us at:

PSS... If you want something that you don't see on my catering menu, ask!  You never know if you never go" to ask" that is. If you order early enough and before everybody else, well, I'll tell you that I'll probably make it for you. "really." But don't get to crazy though......

Alrighty, back to reality. Okay, so graduations, weddings, and birthdays. Here we come.....

Check the calendar or call us to inquire for date availability.  And don't forget to plan ahead for Graduations in 2012. Last year we turned away alot  of people because we limit the amount of orders we do...so don't be one of the ones that get left out.....

Hawaiian style

A fact about O'ahu for the curious. The Iolani Palace in Honolulu is the only royal palace in the United States.

The last monarch of Hawaii to reside there was Queen Lili'uokalani, who resided there until 1893 when the monarchy was overthrown.

It housed the offices of the Governor and later the state legislature until the current State Capital was dedicated in 1969. It was also the headquarters of Steve McGarrett and Hawaii 5-0. really! it was.

But, the Hawaii 5-O offices have now moved across the King Street, to the Judiciary Building. And it's being run by Steve McGarrett  now that his dad was taken out by a terrorist......"right...really, he was."
