Da Kine's was started in 1997 by Belen and Nelson Ishii... and still seems like a lifetime ago...

1)Just as a reminder for everyone, "Da Kines Hawaiian Caterings" is operated by Nelson & Belen Ishii. We do all the cooking like we used to when we started in PB back in 1997. So you know the food is how it was "back in the day".

2) As the founder and owner of Da Kine's Plate Lunches and Da Kine's Hawaiian Caterings, I do respond to emails and phone messages.....I'm not "stuck up" you know....

3) We are still doing caterings... a lot of them too. So, if you are looking for the original taste of Da Kines, call me, or tour the website. The food is still good and the prices are the best around town. No joke!

4) So let's recap. "Da Kine's". Yup, still here, the one, the original, no matter what you're told or heard. Now if you're looking to have a party with some of the best food around, call us at:

PSS... If you want something that you don't see on my catering menu, ask!  You never know if you never go" to ask" that is. If you order early enough and before everybody else, well, I'll tell you that I'll probably make it for you. "really." But don't get to crazy though......

And then there was none....

As of November 30,2012 the independently franchised location at Pt. Loma in Liberty Station has closed. The operator chose not to renew his lease as the terms were not condusive to his being able to succeed. So I guess it's back to square one with just me carrying on......

AHhh....2012...huh?..what?...Mayan calendar?....testing, testing...is this thing still on?

Rest in Peace Senator Daniel K Inouye.....to all of us old timers, you know what he meant to Hawai'i, and Hawai'i is better because of him.........I am very sad.

Alrighty, back to reality. Okay, so graduations, weddings, and birthdays. Here we come.....

Check the calendar or call us to inquire for date availability.  And don't forget to plan ahead for Graduations in 2013. Last year we turned away alot  of people because we limit the amount of orders we do...so don't be one of the ones that get left out.....

A fact about O'ahu for the curious. The Iolani Palace in Honolulu is the only royal palace in the United States.

University of Hawai'i football had a kinda rough year...actually it was very rough, but, with changes come growing pains. Wait till next year

Kahuku High School and Iolani High School won the respective division high school Football Championships

Also, the Sears in Ala Moana Shopping Center is going to close next year. Kinda shocking since it was the first anchor store at the mall........(yeah, I'm old enough to remember that). Now that's really sad......
